Lhistoire de cette Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
Créée initialement pour répondre aux exigences pointues des coureurs automobiles professionnels, elle offre une lisibilité parfaite des temps chronométrés. Toutefois, dans un univers du luxe parfois hautement standardisé, certains passionnés recherchent une exclusivité absolue. C'est ici qu'intervient l'atelier allemand spécialisé Blaken. En transformant méticuleusement la référence 116520, Blaken répond au désir contemporain d'individualisme. L'anecdote technique fascinante de cette démarche réside dans l'utilisation exclusive du revêtement DLC. Développé initialement pour l'industrie aérospatiale et les contraintes extrêmes des moteurs de Formule 1, ce traitement complexe au carbone sous vide rend l'acier originel jusqu'à 8 fois plus résistant aux rayures. Cette mutation transforme un grand classique horloger en une pièce furtive singulière.
Boîtier, calibre et bracelet de cette Cosmograph Daytona
L'architecture de cette pièce repose sur un boîtier de 40 mm en acier inoxydable Oystersteel intégralement transfiguré par le traitement noir profond DLC. Cette armure sculptée alterne subtilement entre des surfaces polies miroir sur les flancs ainsi que la lunette tachymétrique, et un brossage mat élégant sur le dessus des cornes. Le cadran noir profond d'origine a été minutieusement réimprimé pour arborer discrètement la signature du préparateur. Les index en applique et les aiguilles de forme glaive façonnés en or gris 18 carats offrent un contraste saisissant et abritent une matière luminescente claire garantissant une lecture nocturne optimale. Au cur de ce boîtier étanche à 100 mètres bat le calibre 4130. Ce mouvement mécanique à remontage automatique, oscillant à une fréquence de 4 Hz, est composé de 290 éléments et garantit une réserve de marche de 72 heures. Il intègre une roue à colonnes et un embrayage vertical pour une précision chronométrique absolue. L'attache au poignet est assurée par le robuste bracelet Oyster à 3 mailles, lui aussi recouvert de noir, se fermant par une boucle déployante sécurisée.
