The IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, reference IW503302, is a masterpiece of grand complication watchmaking from one of the most celebrated perpetual calendar traditions in the industry, its Kurt Klaus-designed module tracing its roots directly to the legendary Da Vinci of 1985. This certified pre-owned example from 2017 is offered in excellent condition and comes with its full original set, including box, papers, and all original accessories.
Crafted in 18k red gold, the IW503302 presents the Portugieser in its stately 44.2mm round case measuring 15.3mm in height, with a domed sapphire crystal that is one of the most distinctive design updates of the 2015 generation, and a sapphire caseback revealing the movement in full. The warm, deep tone of the red gold gives the Portugieser's classical proportions an immediate richness and presence that white gold and steel cannot replicate.
The silver dial is a study in grand complication layout at its finest, with Arabic numerals and feuille hands framing a full perpetual calendar display showing day, date, month, and year on four digits, a classical single moonphase window at 6 o'clock, and a power reserve indicator completing a dial that is as informative as it is serene.
