The Sixtage brand aims to modify 1960s guitars to make them highly playable and give them the sound of vintage Fender guitars, all at a price accessible to everyone.
To make this transition possible, a luthier completely reworked this vintage Eko guitar. The body was modified to accommodate Fender vintage reissue pickups, and the pickguard was recut to fit them. Original tone pot broke, so I changed the tone pot to a KingTone
The "Willcutt 'The 63'" is not just a standard Custom Shop Stratocaster.
It is a special edition commissioned by Willcutt Guitars from the Fender Custom Shop, inspired by an authentic 1963 Stratocaster owned by Bob Willcutt.
What does "The 63" signify? Willcutt Guitars owned an authentic 1963 Strat that served as a reference point. They worked with Mike Lewis from the Fender Custom Shop to produce a run of 63 guitars replicating that specific Strat.
Each instrument was designed to capture the spirit, specifications, and aging of the original. It is therefore a Willcutt limited edition/special run, rather than a standard "Custom Shop '63 Reissue." Key features of this series include:
Alder body selected for light weight Rift-sawn maple neck AAA rosewood fretboard 9.5" radius 21 6105 frets Hand-wound 62/63 pickups 5-way pickup selector
