Moo-Chew Wong
A very lively and renowned artist of Chinese-Malaysian origin, he moved to Paris in 1967 where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He specialized in engraving and also worked as a draftsman. He was invited to exhibit in numerous museums, notably at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nice and at the Mamco in Geneva in 2011 where he was interviewed by the art critic of the newspaper Le Temps ...He has always engraved the world as he perceives it on a daily basis. Painting is a parallel story, but not foreign to this practice. He paints as he engraves, on the spot. "I have everything I need in my backpack," he explains. "And when I go to paint at Roissy or around a suburban train station, I've designed a system with crates that I pick up at markets to bring back the two canvases I've painted upright, facing each other, without them touching.
