James Allan Hawkins (born April 1954) is a British painter and film maker best known for his powerful and evocative Scottish Highland landscapes. Educated at the Wimbledon School of Art, London and the Ruskin School of Drawing, Oxford University, Hawkins moved to the Highlands of Scotland in 1978, where he lives and works in his open studio, RhueArt, near Ullapool. His work spans figurative and semi-abstract landscape painting, with rich, complex textures and dynamic surfaces that communicate the energy and spirit of the natural world.

Stormy Sea" was designed in 1954 by Bohuslav Beränek for Czechoslovakian Art Glass legends, Skrolovice.
A breathtaking Bohemian cased glass vase of organic form, the colour changes from blue to grey to light smoky brown depending on the light. Pattern 5549 is a statement vase and is a rare survivor. There are some scratches to the base and the remains of a paper label. No chips or cracks.
This vase is a fabulous example of the Beránek brothers' work at Skralovice, a piece of art glass history that you would be proud to own.

Stormy Sea" a été conçu en 1954 par Bohuslav Beränek pour les légendes du verre d'art tchécoslovaque, Skrolovice.
Un vase en verre à boîtier bohème à couper le souffle de forme organique, la couleur passe du bleu au gris en passant par le brun fumé clair en fonction de la lumière. Le modèle 5549 est un vase de déclaration et est un survivant rare. Il y a quelques rayures sur la base et les restes d'une étiquette en papier. Pas d'éclats ni de fissures.
Ce vase est un fabuleux exemple du travail des frères Beránek à Skralovice, une pièce d'histoire du verre d'art que vous seriez fier de posséder.
