Tascam MS-16 Tape machine - 16 pistes

I'm selling my Tascam MS-16 1-inch tape recorder.

Included as shown in the pictures:

- Function remote
- VU meter panel
- Two DBX units for all 16 channels
- Sturdy 9U rack into which all modules fit
- Almost new RTM911 1 tape (used twice)

Condition:

- Transport functions perfectly (Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind, Counter, Varispeed)
- Recording and playback work on all 16 channels
- Tape heads in good condition (see photos)
- Calibration advisable for optimal studio operation
- Tape speed 15 ips

Defects:

Signs of wear consistent with age. The machine generally runs stably, however, about 3 channels occasionally exhibit a slight signal dropout, which occurs sporadically. I will gladly send a picture of a pink noise recording across all 16 channels at full tape length upon request. This will give you an idea of the behavior.

VU-LED for channel-1 is not working.

Viewing and testing are welcome on-site. I'm happy to take my time. Please bring your own test equipment. I can provide two 8-way RCA jack breakout cables (not included, I unfortunately still need them) to test the channels.

I'm parting with my MS-16 because I now have a 24-track 2-inch tape machine. I would be happy if it went to a good home and was used regularly again. With a little care, this can be a nice and compact analog setup.
