DW pulled out all the stops on the Classics Series, utilizing all of their tone-enhancing innovations and options. DW Classics offers a modern solution for those that after the vintage tones of years gone past. These drums feature poplar/mahogany shells with big oversized all-maple reinforcement hoops but a soft bearing edge, giving the drums a dark and punchy tone. The shells are finished in a natural gloss that encases the natural beauty of the mahogany. DW set out to create a drum set series that would be durable enough to take the road while still pleasing vintage fanatics, and they certainly did that with the Classic Series!
