This Tissot Heritage 150 (Reference T66.1.712.31), in very good condition, is a limited edition piece of 8,888. It has a 39.5mm stainless steel case that sits almost 12mm high. The dial size is 33mm and if the crown is included, it is approximately 42mm. With the brown alligator strap and stainless steel push button deployment installed, the overall weight is 78 grams.
The movement that powers this chronograph watch is a caliber ETA 2894-2. This is the same self-winding automatic movement that can be found in many Bell & Ross models, as well as the Tag Heuer Monaco (CW2111). It is a Certified Chronometer and features 37 jewels with a power reserve of 42 hours. The gold-tone rotor is visible thanks to the exhibition style caseback, and has “1853-2003” to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Tissot brand.
The silver dial has a tachymeter scale inscribed along the edge which can be used in conjunction with the chronograph hand to compute speed or distance traveled. The dial also displays a 60 second scale and a date window between 4:00 and 5:00. The curved Hesalite crystal (scratch-resistant plastic) offers a unique view into the dial which is also has a slightly curved edge to it.
The Heritage 150 is a modern approach to a classy design, while still maintaining around a 40mm diameter with several useful functions. The plastic crystal is something to appreciate for its lightweight and vintage appeal, however it would be nice to see this watch with a more resilient sapphire crystal.
This watch retails for $3,150.
